Ricky Chai, who emigrated from Malaysia to the U.S. around 1988, began his culinary journey in the restaurant industry and eventually co-founded his first Thai restaurant in Hillsborough, NJ ( initially called Thai Kitchen), later renaming it Ricky’s Thai alongside his wife, Leng.

Ricky’s Thai restaurants have locations in Hillsborough, Skillman ( Montgomery ), and Bernardsville, serving up fresh, authentic Thai cuisine wrapped in warm, inviting decor, including Thai music and artwork.

Diners frequently call out standout dishes like Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Penang Curry, and Thai curries like red, green, and yellow. There’s a broad range of vegetarian and vegan options too
